Our Facilities

The premises that families will visit have been described throughout this website in detail. We have not described the areas behind the scenes but families can be assured that we consider them second to none and that they represent an important and major contribution to the services we offer.

The standard of our facilities is constantly reviewed to ensure the highest quality of care for loved ones entrusted to us.

Behind the Scenes

We are aware, following our many years of experience, that the facilities behind the scenes are an essential and important part of our services. No expense has been spared to achieve exceptionally high standards at each of our premises within our temperature controlled areas, all of which have been recently updated to the specifications required by Her Majesty’s Coroner, the Home Office Pathologist and the medical profession. We have highly trained female and male staff dealing with the necessary duties required by the deceased placed in our care.

As a result of these high standards we are proud to have been chosen to assist H. M. Coroner following a sudden and unexplained death.

Arrangement Rooms

On entrance to all premises you will be met in the reception area and taken to an arrangement room to sit quietly in and select the funeral or advice you require. All rooms are comfortable and peaceful and have colour schemes and fabrics designed to give a serene and airy atmosphere.

Chapels of Rest

We have dedicated chapels of rest at each of our premises, where families can visit and spend time with their loved one. Not everyone wants to do this; the decision is entirely personal. We try to make this experience as positive as possible and in this quiet place people who wish to can say their last goodbyes.

Each of our Chapels are individually designed and beautifully furnished with enormous attention to detail, to achieve a tranquil and comforting environment. We are fortunate to have a talented member of staff who has designed the interiors to an extremely high standard.

The Chapels at Stony Stratford and Newport Pagnell have recently been redesigned and refurbished and each has an adjacent room to allow bereaved families time for quiet reflection and to comfort those visiting the Chapel.

Bletchley has two Chapels of Rest, also recently redesigned and refurbished. The larger of the two Chapels can be made available to families wishing to hold smaller, more personal funeral services, with their own choice of Celebrant or Minister. The Chapel can accommodate up to 30 family or friends, seated.

As well as our larger Chapel we have a smaller, more intimate Chapel which is often used by the families of babies or infants.

Families have the choice of which Chapel they prefer when making funeral arrangements.

Our staff

All our staff are well trained and most have worked for H W Mason and Sons for many years. They are always caring and respectful and are on hand to look after and support you throughout the funeral process.
